The theft of lead from church roofs is one of the most rapidly growing crimes to afflict the UK. The soaring price of raw materials has made lead theft a very lucrative business. The cost of replacing the stolen lead and repairing the damage done to the building can easily run in to tens of thousands.
LiteWire, is the only plastic optical fibre anti-theft system used for this purpose. The bend sensitive fibre cable is is installed under the lead, thereby protecting the roof against theft with ZERO false alarms!
The thin UV resistant fibre cable can be easily installed retrospectively, so there is no need to remove all the lead to install the system, making installation both simple and cost effective.
